Dungeon of Des-Pair
This project was created as part of a 48 hour game jam. It is based upon the classic card game Concentration, wherein players must match pairs of hidden cards. In Dungeon of Des-pair however, the cards also have effects. The player attempts to match cards to escape dungeons filled with traps, monsters, and treasure.

Game Jam: Pairs
For this project, I worked together with one artist and one programmer. Once the concept of the game was settled upon, I began designing effects for the cards and rapidly paper prototyped a version of the game that I could use to playtest levels whilst the artist and programmer were creating the necessary assets and code.
I created multiple levels, drawing on my game balance experience with a particular focus on probability. During the jam I also communicated with the programmer when ideas for new mechanics came to me, or problem mechanics became clear during testing.
