Game Design:
Archipelago
Archipelago is a beautiful corner of a serene adventure game in which the player explores a picturesque collection of islands and meets its friendly inhabitants. It was created as a group professional project during my time at Abertay University. I worked in a design role, primarily narrative and quest design, whilst also working on the pitch and handling communication with our client, a Dundee based games studio.

Archipelago
Professional Project at Abertay University
As the team leader of this professional project I oversaw production, and was responsible for all communication with our client, Dundee based indie games studio Junkfish, including pitching the project and demonstrating the project's progress.
The game sees the player take on the role of Tai, a youngster who takes on the role of their father's delivery company for the locals of their small, tropical archipelago. The player can explore the open world on their sail boat, and by walking on foot on the various islands. They meet various NPCs, who can give them low stakes quests designed to gently guide the player towards exploring the world further.

I created narrative hooks to encourage the player's exploration from island to island, and wrote the characters and their dialogue.
Mechanics include sailing, interactable NPCs with advancing dialogue, and various minigames including butterfly catching, a sailing time trial, and a net fishing minigame.
