Ticket to Ride Tutorial
for Marmalade Game Studio
I designed two versions of a possible tutorial structure for Ticket to Ride, including mockups of each. I designed the tutorial for Ticket to Ride with the goal of introducing new players to the game’s core mechanics in a clear, but engaging way.

My preferred approach focused on interactive onboarding—guiding players through their first few turns while introducing key concepts, but quickly transitioning to free-form gameplay with minimal interruption. I aimed to create a smooth, low-friction learning experience that could be completed quickly without feeling intrusive, with clear feedback, intuitive progression, and minimal text.

Although the final implemented version reflected a scaled-down interpretation of my original design, the project sharpened my skills in cross-platform UX, onboarding strategy, and adapting game mechanics into teachable moments.
