for Marmalade Game Studio
I led the design of several live events for Monopoly, with a focus on content that improved retention metrics. A highlight was the Advent Calendar—a seasonal event that delivered daily login rewards and bonuses for completing quests. It was designed to drive consistent logins without burning players out with Monopoly's long session times.
Unlike many mobile titles with short, snackable sessions, Monopoly games consistently last for an hour or more. This meant I had to carefully strike a balance—offering meaningful daily incentives that encouraged frequent play without pushing players to commit to a match a day.

To account for this I structured the event around a mix of low and medium friction engagement goals such as logging in, or making incremental progress on challenges through the week.

In addition to the advent calendar, I also contributed to recurring and themed events such as House Rule events, or other seasonal events like 4th of July, or Earth Day. I collaborated closely with the Data and Art teams to create rewards that would resonate with our player base.
